The former holder of our club callsign was Paul E. Hope. Paul was a Radioman for the United States Coast Guard during WWII. On February 3, 1943 Paul became a SK (Silent Key, aka passed away) when the ship that he was on, the S.S. Dorchester, was hit by a torpedo. On the night the ship was hit there were 902 men on board. Only 227 survived.
Paul was from Vermont. Pictured below is a copy of one of Paul's QSL cards.
